Fashion
Blue fashion dress
For this seventh shoot, I leaned into a brighter, more expressive side of the ballet heel experience—bringing everyday fashion into a non-everyday context. The blue dress, light and airy with crocheted detail, moved beautifully against the raw urban setting of brick walls and metal shutters. It felt refreshing to pair something so casual with the striking contrast of black patent ballet heels.
There’s a freedom in wearing clothes that don’t scream “costume.” It gives space for the posture, the stance, and the tension of the shoes to carry the drama. Raymond and I played with textures and angles, making the most of the shadows, while I navigated ledges and uneven surfaces on full pointe. The movement was minimal, but the attitude was clear.
This kind of styling is exactly what I want to keep doing—normal pieces, styled for balance, but made extraordinary through the discipline of movement. Fashion should be fun and challenging, and this shoot was both.
