Birthday shoot, locked up

Raymond’s birthday felt like the perfect moment to do something special, so I surprised him with a shoot in my party outfit—complete with locked-on ballet heels. I’ve spent enough time in these heels now that wearing them all day is just part of the challenge, and I actually enjoy finding new ways to style them. For this shoot, I paired them with a soft navy mini dress and my black latex stockings underneath for a clean, sculpted contrast.

We chose an industrial setting near the water, where the crisp lines of the metal structure echoed the sleekness of the latex. The light was beautiful—clear and cool—and it brought out all the depth in the surfaces. Even with the heels locked, I felt steady and focused, using the lines in the architecture and the symmetry of the railway to frame each pose in a way that felt both elegant and grounded.

What I like most about this shoot is how relaxed and confident it turned out. Despite the constraints—literally—I was completely in my element, and I think that shows in the images. It was a quiet kind of celebration, but a memorable one.
