Let me be your Valentine

Valentine’s Day, Cologne Style

I recently wore this outfit to a Valentine’s Day party and liked it enough to give it a proper shoot afterward. The black-and-red combination already does most of the work: heart details across the bodice, red accents around the shoulders and skirt, and patterned tights underneath. It is playful, dramatic, and just exaggerated enough to feel right for the occasion.

A Costume That Still Feels Like Me

What I like about this kind of look is that it sits somewhere between costume and fashion. The Ballet Heels keep the posture sharp, while the dress adds movement and a slightly theatrical silhouette. It is clearly not an everyday outfit, but it also does not feel disconnected from the rest of my style. The red hearts make the Valentine theme obvious without needing anything more complicated.

In Cologne, Dressing Up Is Almost Mandatory

And honestly, living in Cologne makes outfits like this feel completely normal. This is a city where wearing a costume never really needs much explanation. There is always some reason to dress up, exaggerate a little, and enjoy the performance of it. So after wearing the look, turning it into a studio shoot felt like the natural second half of the idea.
