Jumping a rope(!)
What Could I Try Next?
At some point, simply standing and walking in Ballet Heels was no longer enough. So the obvious question became: what else could I do in them? Running sounded questionable. Basketball sounded even more questionable. Jumping rope, however, seemed just ridiculous enough to try. So I did.
Timing Becomes Everything
Skipping rope in Ballet Heels changes the movement completely. There is almost no room for a careless landing, so the rhythm has to stay precise. The jumps become smaller, the body stays tighter, and every rotation of the rope has to match the timing of the feet. What looks playful from the outside actually demands a lot of concentration, especially because the heels keep the body permanently pitched forward.
Ridiculous, Difficult, and Surprisingly Fun
I expected it to feel awkward. Instead, I loved it. Once I found the rhythm, it became one of those challenges that makes you forget how unusual the setup actually is. A white dress, a pink studio, a skipping rope, and Ballet Heels are probably not the most logical combination, but that was exactly the point. Sometimes the best ideas start with, “This is probably stupid,” and end with, “Okay, I absolutely want to do that again.”
