Summer Needed Something Lighter
Hot summer days make complicated outfits a lot less appealing, so this time a swimsuit was the obvious choice. It kept the styling simple and gave the shoot a completely different feeling from the heavier latex looks I usually wear. The long sleeves still gave it some structure, while the cut kept everything light enough for the temperature.
The Colors Made It
What convinced me was the color combination. The lime sleeves, pale blue panels, black center, and bright pink zipper are almost aggressively cheerful compared with most of my wardrobe. I would probably never choose this swimsuit for an actual day at the beach, but for a studio shoot it worked perfectly because the colors immediately became the whole concept.
Of Course, Ballet Heels
The white Ballet Heels finished it in the cleanest possible way. Against the colorful swimsuit and white background, they kept the look sharp without competing with it. A swimsuit and Ballet Heels may not be the most obvious summer combination, but apparently that is exactly why I liked it.
