Grunge style with platform boots

My Version of Grunge

I had been reading about grunge style in fashion and wanted to see what my own interpretation of it could look like. Instead of copying the usual oversized layers and distressed pieces exactly, I kept the loose top and dark tights but added latex hot pants to bring some shine into the combination.

Trading Ballet Heels for Platforms

For this shoot, I also left the Ballet Heels aside and switched to platform boots. They changed the posture immediately and made the look feel heavier, rougher, and much more casual. That worked better with the grunge idea than trying to keep everything too polished.

Not Quite Traditional Grunge

It is definitely not a textbook grunge outfit, but that was never the point. I wanted to take the general mood and mix it with pieces I actually enjoy wearing. The result sits somewhere between grunge, latex, and my own version of Highstyle.
