A Little Early for the Fourth

For everyone who celebrates the 4th of July, I wanted to create something special before the day itself rather than wait until afterward. Raymond and I built the look around the obvious red, white, and blue theme, but I still wanted it to feel like one of my shoots rather than a costume worn for a calendar date.

Playing With the Theme

The leggings and matching shoes made the reference impossible to miss, while the black corset and top kept the outfit closer to my own style. I liked that contrast because it stopped the whole thing from becoming too literal. It is clearly inspired by the occasion, but still feels like fashion first.

And Something for Everyone Else

Of course, not everyone celebrates the 4th of July, so this special set comes in addition to the regular update rather than replacing it. One shoot for the occasion, one normal update for everyone else. That seemed like the fairest way to do it.
