Flash Dance on ballet heels
Dancing Before I Knew the Idea
When we started this shoot, I honestly had no idea what Raymond was planning to make out of it. I just knew I was supposed to move, react, and dance in front of the camera. The outfit was simple enough to give me freedom, while the Ballet Heels made every movement more deliberate and slightly unpredictable.
A Song I Had Never Heard Before
The music was completely new to me, which actually made it more interesting. I could not rely on knowing the rhythm or anticipating the next part, so I had to listen, react, and let the movement happen in the moment. That made the dancing feel less rehearsed and much more spontaneous.
Seeing the Result Afterward
Only later, when Raymond showed me what he had created from the footage, did I understand the direction of the shoot. I liked that process a lot: doing something without overthinking it first, then discovering afterward what kind of atmosphere had been captured. Sometimes not knowing too much in advance is exactly what makes a shoot feel alive.
