Wearing What Feels Like Me

I have noticed that the shoots I enjoy most often start with clothes I actually want to wear. When I feel comfortable with the combination, I move differently, I stop thinking so much about the camera, and the photos become less about posing correctly and more about simply being in the moment.

The City Feels Different in the Morning

This time I wanted to shoot outside in the city, early enough that the streets were still relatively quiet. Places I would normally just walk past suddenly became interesting once I was there with the Ballet Heels and the outfit. A wall, a corner, a pavement edge- things that would normally mean nothing started to become part of the composition.

Sometimes Style Changes the Way I See a Place

Maybe that is one of the nicest things about dressing in a way that feels personal. It not only changes how I look, but it also changes how I look at my surroundings. A location I would never choose on an ordinary day can suddenly feel right, simply because the outfit gives me a reason to stop there.
