07 Bonus Ballet shoot

Back to the Barre

It was time for another ballet bonus shoot, and this time I wanted the barre to become part of the image instead of just something in the background. Having something solid to hold on to immediately changed the way I could work. The poses became calmer, more controlled, and much easier to hold long enough for Raymond to adjust the framing.

More Control, Less Rush

With the barre, I could concentrate much more on placement, balance, and the exact shape of a position. Instead of constantly moving from one thing into the next, I could stay in a pose, correct small details, and really think about how the body looked from the camera’s point of view. That made the whole shoot feel more deliberate.

The Quiet Shoots Matter Too

I like these ballet shoots in between the bigger concepts because they bring everything back to basics. No huge costume idea, no complicated location, just movement, posture, and control. They may look simple, but sometimes those are the shoots where I notice the smallest details the most.
