Ballet
11 Bonus Ballet shoot
Back to Where It Started
Sometimes I like returning to ballet without adding anything to it. No Ballet Heels, no latex, no strange styling experiment, just pointe shoes, a simple black outfit, and movements that have been part of my life for so long that I do not really have to think about them anymore.
Dancing for a Different Reason
For many years, ballet meant repetition, correction, discipline, and becoming better than I was the day before. I still enjoy dancing, but that pressure is mostly gone now. I am not trying to prove anything or reach another technical level. I can simply move because I feel like moving, which strangely makes ballet feel different after knowing it so seriously for so long.
The Camera Makes Me Slow Down
The only slightly frustrating part is photography. Real dancing wants rhythm and continuity, while a shoot wants me to slow everything down, hold positions, repeat movements, and wait for the exact moment. It is almost the opposite of how I naturally want to dance. But maybe that is why these shoots are interesting to me now: they turn something I once practiced for progress into something I can simply preserve for the pleasure of it.
