Ballet Where It Does Not Belong

Dancing on pointe in a public park felt very different from doing the same movements in the studio. The ground was less predictable, the space was shared, and every now and then someone stopped for a moment because seeing ballet happen between trees and walking paths is probably not the most ordinary thing.

Waiting Is Part of the Shoot

We often had to pause until people had moved out of the frame, simply because they were there to enjoy the park, not to become part of my photos. That slowed everything down, but it also made the shoot feel less controlled and more alive. Between those little interruptions, I could still dance, reset, and find the next position.

Movement Changes a Place

What I liked most was how quickly a normal path became something else once I started dancing on it. Nothing about the location was built for ballet, and maybe that is exactly why it worked. Sometimes taking a familiar movement somewhere unexpected is enough to make both the movement and the place feel new again.
