Dressed Like a Moving Doll
I went to a designer looking for something unusual and came back with an outfit that felt almost like it belonged to another time. Several individual pieces, layers of white fabric, lace, bows, and all those little details that only really make sense once everything is put together. Raymond helped me assemble the whole thing because this was definitely not an outfit you simply step into and zip up.
When Costume Becomes Movement
The funny thing is that the dress looked very doll-like while standing still, but the moment I started dancing, it changed completely. The sleeves moved, the skirt opened with every turn, and the structure of the outfit suddenly became part of the choreography. Pointe shoes were the obvious choice because anything heavier would have destroyed that lightness.
Maybe Dolls Were Never Meant to Stand Still
I like shoots where clothing changes the way I move instead of simply decorating me. This one almost demanded softer gestures, longer arms, and more controlled poses. It made me wonder whether the idea of a doll is really about stillness at all. Maybe the more interesting version is the one that suddenly decides to move on its own.
