Shattered collection on tiptoes
Broken Into Something New
A designer from Hamburg sent me a whole box of latex pieces, and this catsuit immediately stood out because of the shattered pattern running across the upper part. It looks a little like a broken mirror, with sharp fragments breaking up the smooth black surface and turning something very clean into something much more graphic.
Order Inside the Chaos
What I like is that the design looks wild without actually becoming messy. The gold lines give the impression of cracks or separate pieces, but the catsuit itself still keeps one strong silhouette. Combined with the Ballet Heels, the whole look became almost architectural, very structured, very sharp, and much more dramatic than a plain black catsuit would have been.
Maybe Perfect Things Are Less Interesting
There is something appealing about a design based on something broken. A mirror usually only becomes interesting after it stops reflecting one perfect image and starts showing fragments instead. Fashion can work the same way. Sometimes the interruption, the crack, or the thing that looks slightly wrong is exactly what gives a piece its identity.
