From Doll to Angel

After the doll-inspired shoot worked so well, I wanted to stay with the same designer and see where the next outfit would take me. This one felt much lighter and more romantic, especially with the white corset, flowing trousers, and wings. It already had movement built into it before I even started dancing.

Giving the Air Something to Do

Raymond had this large white fabric available, and that changed the whole shoot. Instead of using it as a simple background element, we let it move through the frame so I could react to it. Suddenly the photos were no longer only about holding a ballet pose, but about timing, direction, and creating the impression that the air itself was part of the choreography.

Ballet Keeps Finding New Shapes

That is probably why I still love dancing ballet so much. Even after all those years, it keeps adapting to whatever I put around it. A classical pose can become theatrical, soft, strange, elegant, or almost weightless depending on the clothes, the space, and the smallest movement. The technique may be familiar, but the feeling does not have to be.
