Almost Made for Someone Else

This purple and black latex dress was another piece from the designer’s package, and I liked it immediately, even though the fit wasn't quite perfect. It was close enough to work, but also specific enough that I started wondering whether some of these pieces had originally been designed around another body entirely.

When “Almost” Becomes Interesting

Strangely, that did not hurt the shoot. The slightly unusual fit gave the dress its own character, and the long shape worked beautifully with the Ballet Heels. The black details broke up the metallic purple and made the whole thing feel more elegant than I first expected.

Clothes Carry Their Own History

That is what I find interesting about receiving pieces like this. You do not always know who they were imagined for, why certain proportions were chosen, or what the original idea behind them was. Sometimes you simply put them on and give them a completely different life.
