A Prototype in Motion

For this ballet shoot, I wore a new prototype of the suit Raymond, a few others, and I have been developing. The idea is to make something that works as a proper fitness suit but can also be worn comfortably underneath other clothes, so I wanted to see how it behaved during actual movement instead of only judging it while standing still.

Testing More Than the Look

Ballet is useful for that because it immediately shows where a garment works and where it still needs improvement. Stretch, tension, seams, movement around the hips and shoulders, and how the fabric returns into shape all matter much more once I start using my body properly. A prototype can look finished in a photo and still reveal a long list of things to change after ten minutes of movement.

Not Finished Is Part of the Process

There is still a lot to do before this becomes something we would actually make available. But I like showing parts of that process because products do not suddenly appear finished. They evolve through versions, mistakes, adjustments, and very practical testing. This one is getting closer, but it is not there yet.
