A Longboard Was Probably a Bad Idea

Raymond got a new longboard, and of course my first thought was to use it for a shoot. It looked fun, simple, and somehow manageable. That impression disappeared rather quickly once I actually had to stand on it.

First Tests, Very Little Confidence

Raymond helped me with the first attempts, which was definitely necessary. The board reacts to every small movement, and that becomes even more noticeable when your balance is already altered by unusual footwear. What looks relaxed in photos felt much less relaxed in reality.

Scary, but Still Worth It

I would not pretend that I suddenly became good at longboarding. I was mostly concentrating on not doing anything stupid. But that also made the shoot interesting. Sometimes the best ideas are the ones that are slightly outside your comfort zone, as long as you know when to stop. This one was scary, funny, and definitely memorable.
