A Proper Winter Bath

When it is cold outside, I am much happier finding a way to stay warm than pretending I enjoy freezing for another outdoor shoot. A hot bath sounded like the better idea, and once I had decided on that, I wanted the styling to feel just as deliberate as any other set.

Latex in the Water

The black latex body worked surprisingly well for this. Against the white bathtub and the blue tiles, it became much more graphic than I expected. The water softened everything around it while the latex kept that sharp, glossy surface I like so much in photos.

Bringing Highstyle Somewhere Unexpected

The shoes made the whole thing stranger in exactly the right way. I had already used them for Highstyle before, but putting them into a bath scene changed their character completely. They are elegant, exaggerated, and a little impractical, which somehow made them perfect here.

I like shoots like this because they do not need to make perfect sense. Cold weather outside, hot water inside, latex, unusual shoes, and a bathroom becoming a fashion set for a while. That is enough reason for me.
