Locked Into the Look

After Raymond locked the tight steel neck corset around my neck, we had the next problem: what exactly do you wear with something that already dominates the whole look?

We tried a few ideas, but most of them either looked too heavy or simply competed with the collar. In the end, we went in a more delicate direction with lace, a corset, the long transparent skirt, and my Ballet Heels.

Hard Steel, Soft Fabric

That contrast became the interesting part for me. The neck corset is rigid, cold, and very architectural, while the lace and transparent fabric are much softer and more romantic. The combination should probably not work, but somehow it does.

The corset in the middle connects both sides of the outfit and gives everything enough structure.

More Experiment Than Plan

This was not one of those shoots where the styling was complete before we started. We basically built it around one object and kept adjusting until it felt right.

I actually like shoots like that because they become less predictable. Sometimes a strong image starts with a perfect concept. Sometimes it starts with Raymond locking something around my neck and both of us wondering what on earth I should wear with it. :D
