Be More Like Me
This shirt became part of a series Raymond photographed with several models, but I liked the message enough to make it my own. Be more like me does not mean becoming somebody else. For me, it means being a little more honest about what you actually enjoy and then having the courage to keep doing it.
That sounds simple until life starts adding opinions, expectations, practical problems, bad timing, tired days, and all the other little excuses that slowly turn “I want to” into “maybe later.”
Do What You Love Anyway
For this shoot, I wore latex leggings and fixed my feet into that straight tiptoe position of the Ballet Wedges. Not exactly the definition of relaxed comfort, but strangely enough, that is part of the point.
Things you love are not always easy. Sometimes they are inconvenient. Sometimes they hurt a little. Sometimes other people do not understand why you are doing them at all. But if something makes you feel more like yourself, that is usually a pretty good reason to keep going.
Comfortable Enough :)
And yes, after standing and walking around in Ballet Wedges, ending up on the couch suddenly becomes one of life’s greater achievements. So maybe that is my version of the motto:
Be more like me.
Or better, be more like you.
Wear what you love. Create what you love. Ignore a reasonable amount of nonsense. And when your feet finally demand negotiations, find a very large couch.
