Something Different Under My Feet

I’ve worn pony shoes before, maybe once or twice, but taking them outside onto uneven ground was a completely different experience. Indoors, you can control the surface, the distance, and almost every step. Outside, the ground has its own opinion.

They are still not my favorite kind of shoes, but that is exactly why they are fun from time to time. Wearing only what you already know can get boring very quickly.

Fashion First, Experiment Second

For this shoot, I wanted the outfit to stay elegant, so I combined the pony shoes with latex leggings and more conventional fashion pieces. I like that contrast. The upper half feels almost classic, while everything changes the moment you look down. The shoes make the stance more rigid, the walk more deliberate, and the whole silhouette slightly stranger. In a good way.

Not Everything Has to Become a Favorite

Sometimes an experiment does not have to convert you. I do not need to suddenly become obsessed with pony shoes just because the shoot worked. It is enough that they gave me a different posture, a different challenge, and a different set of images.

Trying something unusual every now and then is probably healthy for creativity anyway. Even if your feet occasionally disagree.
