Still Me, Just Not 2010 Me

I’m obviously not the very young model I was back in 2010 anymore, and I don’t think I should pretend otherwise. But that doesn’t mean I suddenly have to give up on looks that feel fresh, playful, or a little younger. Sometimes I put something like this on and think: maybe this is a bit much now.

Then I add the Ballet Heels. And somehow the whole thing changes.

When Cute Becomes Strong

The dress by itself is sweet, almost innocent. The blouse makes it even softer. But the Ballet Heels completely shift the balance. Suddenly the outfit gets posture, tension, and a much sharper silhouette.

That contrast is exactly why I still enjoy combinations like this. It’s not really about dressing “young.” It’s about keeping some lightness in the styling and mixing it with something much more extreme.

Style Doesn’t Come With an Expiry Date

I think that’s the part I understand better now than I did years ago. You don’t have to abandon a style just because time passes. You only have to learn how to wear it in a way that still feels like you.

Maybe that means changing the proportions. Maybe adding something stronger. Maybe simply caring less about whether somebody thinks it’s “too young.”

And if I look in the mirror and think it works? That’s enough for me.
