A Summer Dress, Ballet Wedges, and No Complicated Plan

It was simply warm enough for a light dress; I had just bought this one for myself, and the Ballet Wedges were waiting for another outing. Sometimes that is all a shoot needs to begin. I really like these shoes because they sit somewhere between practical and completely unreasonable. They are much easier for me to wear than Ballet Heels, but they still force that very particular posture and immediately change the way an outfit looks.

Keeping It Light

The dress is soft, feminine, and casual enough to feel like something I could actually wear on a normal summer day. The Ballet Wedges push it in a completely different direction without destroying that feeling.

The black ringless collar was the obvious finishing touch. Anything heavier would have taken too much attention away from the dress, while the simple black band connects perfectly with the shoes.

Sometimes Fashion Shoots Should Just Be Fun

Not every outfit needs a concept. Sometimes you put together a few pieces you genuinely like, walk outside, and see what happens. This one felt easy, summery, feminine, and still very much like me.

And if the weather gives me another day like this, the Ballet Wedges definitely won’t stay in the closet for long.
