Pink corset dress by Bizarre Design
A Dress I Couldn’t Say No To
When Bizarre Design offered me the chance to shoot in one of their corset dresses, I didn’t really need much convincing. The opportunity to wear one of Jeroen van der Klis’ creations was simply too interesting to pass up.
And then I saw the dress.
Soft pink, very feminine, almost delicate in appearance… and absolutely not delicate when it came to the fit.
Pretty Can Be Very Tight
The corset construction pulled everything into place and created an incredibly clean silhouette. From the outside, it looks light, elegant, almost effortless.
From the inside, “effortless” was not exactly the word I would have chosen. :) But that contrast is part of what I like about pieces like this. The dress looks romantic and graceful, while the structure underneath is doing a lot of very serious work.
Ballet Heels Changed the Whole Mood
With normal shoes, this could have become a very classic fashion shoot. The Ballet Heels changed that immediately.
The pink dress stayed soft and feminine, but the black patent shoes added tension and made the whole look much stronger. Suddenly it wasn’t just a beautiful corset dress anymore. It became something much closer to the kind of fashion contrast I always enjoy.
Worth the Squeeze
Would I wear something this tight every day? Absolutely not.
Would I wear it again for a shoot? Without hesitation.
Some pieces are simply made to create a moment, and this one definitely did.
